Elastic proton scattering off nonzero spin nuclei

چکیده

In recent years, we constructed a microscopic optical potential (OP) for elastic nucleon-nucleus ($NA$) scattering using modern approaches based on chiral theories the nucleon-nucleon ($NN$) interaction. The OP was derived at first order of spectator expansion in Watson multiple theory and its final expression folding integral between $NN$ $t$ matrix nuclear density target. Two- three-body forces are consistently included both target projectile description. purpose this work is to apply our nuclei characterized by ground state spin-parity quantum numbers $J^\pi \ne 0^+$. We extended formalism include spin nucleus. full amplitudes reaction retained calculations starting from two- forces. show remarkable agreement with experimental data available observables and, simultaneously, provide reliable estimates theoretical uncertainties. This paves way toward approach inelastic $NA$ scattering, showing that derivation potentials states 0^+$ completely under control.

Proton Elastic Scattering and Neutron Distribution of Unstable Nuclei

We study theoretically how we can determine the neutron density distributions of unstable nuclei from proton elastic scattering. We apply the relativistic impulse model to study the sensitivities of the observables to the density distributions which are expressed in Woods-Saxon form. We find that the both radius and diffuseness of densities can be determined from restricted elastic scattering d...

NONDYNAMICAL ANALYSIS OF SPIN AMPLITUDES IN PION-PROTON ELASTIC SCATTERING IN OPTIMAL FORMALISM AT 6.0 GeV/C

Optimal conditions are used in nondynamical formalism to diagonalize the pionproton reaction matrix as much as possible. Invariance laws are imposed to simplify the relationship between observables and bilinear combination of amplitudes. Transverse amplitudes are determined by using measured polarization parameter in xfp elastic scattering at 6.0 GeVIC

Elastic Scattering of Halo Nuclei

We show that under certain conditions a simple relationship exists between the elastic scattering of a composite halo nucleus and of its core from a stable target. The coupling of the elastic and projectile excitation channels is crucial to the analysis, which is particularly useful when the ratio of the halo to the core mass is small. In the case of Be elastic scattering the cross section rela...

Neutrino proton elastic scattering and the spin structure of the proton

Understanding the spin structure of the proton is one of the most challenging problems facing subatomic physics: How is the spin of the proton built up out from the intrinsic spin and orbital angular momentum of its quark and gluonic constituents ? What happens to spin in the transition between current and constituent quarks in low-energy QCD ? Key issues include the role of polarized glue and ...
